AIC library aspires to be “a world class state of art Information Resource Centre of Excellence in the World” which is integral to AIC teaching, learning and research.


To make the future bright for AIC Library users by getting them where they want to be through Information, Inspirations and Imaginations! The Library is user-centered and delivers the most up-to-date and appropriate information and services on and off line.



1. AIC Library System exists to meet the information needs of the parent college in so far as resources permit. The Library aims to provide the required information in the best formats, at the best place and at the best appropriate time that is very beneficial to the users, within the requirements of the college. This means continuing the provision, in the most efficient manner possible, of both traditional and digital library services.

2. The Library System strives to support all members of AIC staff and students in their pursuit of lifelong learning, self-fulfillment and entertainment. The library provides information materials that represent and reflect diverse viewpoints and opinions.

3. The Library System has the responsibilities to develop, publicize and offer, in an efficient manner, new information services and facilities appropriate to changing circumstances. These will be offered increasingly and collaboratively with other organs of the university and with appropriate external agencies.

4. The library’s digital initiatives aim at providing better service to all AIC library system’s patrons.

However, special opening hours are often arranged during study peak periods at the request of the concerned faculties or students. 




Library Membership

1. Membership of Al Mustafa Islamic College Library System is open to all staff and students of AIC as defined in the College Statutes and to such other persons as may be determined by the Senate in consultation with the College Council.All library users must obtain a library card before being allowed to use the library.


Rules And Policies

The AIC Library shall encourage scholarly research by maintaining an environment conducive to study in all units of the libraries system. Library users are expected to act responsibly, appropriately, and courteously to preserve the libraries’ facilities, environment, and collections. Persons who violate any of these policies may lose their privileges to use AIC Library, be subject to College-imposed discipline, and/or be subject to criminal prosecution or other legal action, as appropriate.

These Rules and Regulations apply to all campuses of Al Mustafa Islamic College, unless specific provisions to the contrary are included in this statement, or displayed in the Campus or Branch Library concerned. The Library Committee makes decisions that are changed from time to time, with regular up-dates made available on the Library Website.

Reference And Circulation

The section is currently located near the entrance of the library.It handles all inquiries related to the use of the library, the collections and the services. The section is also responsible for registering new users, clearing completing students and inter-library loan (library exchange services).

Reserved Books Section

Reserved Books Section (RBS) contains text books in all subjects taught at the college which have been recommended by the teaching staff except on Law.

Accessing Text Books in the Section

The text books which are in Closed Access (CA) are shelved in a cage and served to readers on request through Service Windows (SW). Students and lecturers are allowed to borrow the text books in this section on presentation of a valid library card. The text books are loaned out only for three hours and are read within the library.

Technical Section

This Section is charged with the responsibility of receiving, processing, labeling and availing all library information materials to patrons. The section is also charged with automating the library collections and maintaining an efficient Open (OPAC) System.

Within the section is a Bindery Unit where damaged books are repaired.

The section is out of bound to non-library staff.

Online Public Access Catalogue

This section is computer based and enables student’s access and locates books in the open access section. It entirely operates on the Library congress system that is A-Z
